Alec Young serves as MAPsignal’s Chief Investment Strategist. Alec is an experienced Wall Street investment strategist who has served in progressively more senior, client and media facing roles at major investment firms since 2005. He has a keen eye and can cut out the noise and identify the key, actionable drivers moving markets and why. His top-down expertise extends across asset classes from equities to credit and alternatives.

Prior to joining MAPsignals, Alec served as FTSE Russell’s Managing Director of Global Markets Research from 2017-2020. Prior to joining FTSE Russell, Alec spent 11 years working in senior investment strategy roles at both S&P Global, where he served as their Equity Strategist and Oppenheimer Funds, where he served as an Investment Strategist.

Alec is regularly quoted in leading financial publications including the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, NY Times, Barron’s, Bloomberg.com, USA Today and ETF Trends, among many others. He also often appears on CNBC, Bloomberg TV, PBS, CNN and Reuters, among many others.

Alec holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Grinnell College. In 2008 he completed an executive education program on Investment Strategies and Portfolio Management at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Business School.
